Wax Buildup - How to Remove It From Your Wood Furniture

Candles are really useful when you want to create more romantic atmosphere in your home or just make it smell nicely. Unfortunately, the look of wax buildup on your furniture may not be so pleasant as it can trap a lot of dirt and dust. Cleaning wax is an easy process that can restore the origin look of your furniture, especially if you know how to do it.

First, you need to prepare the wood wiping it off with a soft cleaning cloth. This way, you'll remove dust and any residue from the surface of your furniture. Then take a bucket and mix a gallon of white vinegar with a cup of cream of tartar in it. Use a scrub brush to clean any residue that wiping wasn't enough to remove. Rinse the wood with water and dry it with a clean towel.

Second, burnish the wood. Use a clean cloth to burnish the wood with small circular motions. Make sure that you're pressing gently when buffing your furniture.

Finally, to restore the origin condition of the furniture, apply a little wood polish or carnuba wax to a cloth and rub it into a small section of the wooden surface. Continue doing it until your wood furniture sparkles again.
